‘Music on a Distant Shore’ was runner-up in Original Theatre’s playwriting competition, which attracted entries from all over the world.  This will be the play’s premiere.

Written by David Weir, it is a funny and poignant look at how a bereaved wife, Elaine, and her teenage son Kevin struggle to build a new life for themselves, while keeping a connection with the man who had such an influence on them, and who they miss so much.
The cast also includes Alma, the medium with a dubious past, and Arthur, who has a special reason for continuing to employ Elaine, despite her dismal record at telephone sales.

The part of Kevin is played by Moses Gale, who is a member of the Apollo Youth Theatre.  The play, set in Scotland, features music played live by members of the Isle of Wight Scottish Fiddlers.
