To all our audience members past, present and future, you will remember that on 16 March 2020 the Apollo Theatre Players, along with all other theatre companies in the UK, had to make the difficult decision to close the Theatre. We felt that it was the only responsible course of action to take.
After more than a year in darkness, we are delighted to be able to announce that – pending any further changes to legislation – the Apollo Theatre will reopen to audiences on 30 July with a production of three of John Mortimer’s wonderful one-act plays.
We are enthusiastically preparing for curtain up, but of course we are still in uncertain times so to make sure there will be no further disappointment tickets can be booked on the website. We shall, of course, continue to monitor the requirements placed on theatres, and work to keep you and our casts and crew safe.
We are delighted that audiences are beginning to return. We understand of course that people are nervous after the difficult times we’ve all been through, so we have summarised the actions we’re taking to help you feel safe as you return. Check them out in this document, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Your welfare and comfort are at the heart of what we do, as theatres return to normality.
We look forward to welcoming you back; and we thank you, as always, for your support of the Apollo Theatre.
